The 8 interesting electric cars in the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show

The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show is now full of new excitement regulating under strict covid 19 screening measures as each brand showcases their new models of cars both with a combustion engine and 100% electric vehicles. This time, we will get to explore the 100% electric cars at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show. Let’s see up close for those models that will catch your attention.


1. ORA GOOD CAT
selling price from 828,500 to 1,038,500 baht

ORA GOOD CAT, a 100% electric car developed on the GWM LEMON E PLATFORM platform, has a 5-door hatchback body designed in a cute and quirky way. It comes with a classic grille with an Active Air Intake system. LED headlights are in Cat Eyes shape with a circular Daytime Running Light at the rear of the car. An LED tail light strip is set along the left to right for the Sport-design. It has 5-spoke alloy wheels, 18 inches for PRO and ULTRA models, 17 inches for TECH models. The interior of the ORA Good Cat 2022 cabin will be available in monotone black and a two-tone color that is the same color as the exterior of the car. It is distinctive with Interactive Double Screen, which has 2 screens connected in size 17.25 inches, divided into 7-inch Full TFT digital driving information display and 10.25-inch multimedia touch screen. The vehicles are available in 3 sub-models: 400 TECH, 400 PRO and 500 ULTRA that come with 2 sizes of batteries and travel up to 400 – 500 km on a single full charge. The power of the ORA Good Cat comes with 1 electric motor and has the power of 143 horsepower, maximum torque of 210 Nm using front-wheel drive which can provide a maximum speed of 152 km/h.

MG EP selling price from 761,000 to 771,000 baht

The only one of 100% electric cars in Thailand that comes in the form of a 5-seater multipurpose vehicle with MG EP station wagon style. It also comes with a modern exterior design with a Suspended Wing Grille decorated with chrome and Piano Black headlights. 

It is equipped with a projector type with illumination in the daytime, LED Daytime Running Light with on-off control. It has automatic headlights, LED tail lights in Electric Pulse Design and 3rd LED type brake lights. It has 16-inch alloy wheels, sporty design inside the cabin, which is equipped with leather-wrapped seats and decorated the console with soft-touch materials.  Enhance the modernity with a 7-inch Digital Multi-Function Display, and an 8-inch infotainment screen.The  MG EP contains maximum power of 163 horsepower, maximum torque of 260 Newton-meters, with a single-speed transmission, and a maximum speed of 185 km /h, that can drive up to 380 kilometers per full charge.


3. NEW MG ZS EV
selling price from 949,000 to 1,023,000 baht

The NEW MG ZS EV Minor Change has increased the battery life to 403 kilometers. The exterior has changed the new grille to a solid one, which makes this new model look more electric. 

It also has installed standard equipment such as LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights on-off system, grille-less design with charging ports, LED tail lights, adjustable-folding side mirrors,  rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels with Aero Wheel Cover.

As for the interior of the cabin, it is decorated with black tones and enhances the design of the new front console. Moreover, it is equipped with leather seats, 6-way adjustable driver’s side, a 7-inch digital speedometer and 10-inch touch infotainment screen. While the X model is additionally equipped with a panoramic sunroof, wiper system. Automatic rain, roof rails, 6-way electric driver’s seat, rear armrests, wireless charger system and increase the number of speakers from 4 to 6 points. The NEW MG ZS EV has a Lithium-ion battery that is larger to 50.3. kWh. Compared to its predecessor, Minor Change’s 44.5 kWh, offers a longer driving range of 403 kilometers per charge. (Previously, the driving distance was only at 337 kilometers)


4.HOZON NETA V
selling price is not more than 700,000 baht.

HOZON NETA V is a 100% electric vehicle imported by Arun Plus Co., Ltd. (ARUN PLUS), the PTT group. It  is scheduled to be launched in the mid of 2022. The design of HOZON NETA V has been inspired by “dolphins” as the front of the car is pointed like the mouth part and the body has a convex ridge to emphasize the aerodynamics. The Eagle eye headlights are in the same lamp cover, including the headlight, turn signals and DRL lights that are all  an LED. The hood slopes til the front grille that is opaque and designed to have clear lines. The two-tone alloy wheels, size 15 inches and tail lights are designed to look sleek.

The roof spoiler and brake lights are installed. The sporty black rear bumper comes with big ruby ​​lights. The interior is designed to look simple and minimal. Multi-function steering wheel, large 2-spoke shape with head and rear cutting. The long square digital driving information display is placed behind the steering wheel. A 13-inch touch infotainment screen is located on the dashboard that comes with a voice command control system.

It also has an automatic air conditioning and N95 filtration. The Hozon Neta V 2022 is powered by an electric motor mounted on the front axle that comes with batteries that are available in 2 sizes, including the Standard model, a 40 kW LFP lithium battery. It is equipped with a torque of 110 Nm with a distance of 301 km per full charge. The Lone Rage has a 55 kW battery with a maximum torque of 175 Nm and a full charge range of 401 km, while the maximum speed is limited to 100 km/h.

 

5.POCCO DD selling price from 429,000 to 479,000 baht

POCCO DD, a small electric car that was imported into Thailand by BRG with a 5-door body design, left-hand drive, divided into 2 sub-models, L and K. It is equipped with a maximum power of 29 kW electric motor (about 39.4 horsepower) power, and maximum torque of 110 Newton – meters which can deliver a top speed of more than 100 km / h. The L model is equipped with a 10.3 kWh Lithium-ion battery for about 128 km distance, and the K model is 14.5 kWh, providing a driving distance of approximately 178 kilometers which can be charged with a 220 volt household power in about 6-8 hours.

 

6.POCCO MM selling price from 439,000 to 499,000 baht

POCCO MM is a 3-door electric car that focuses on sportiness more than the DD version. It is available in 2 sub-models, the YX and ZX. It is also equipped with a maximum power of 20 kW electric motor (about 27 horsepower), a maximum torque of 100 Nm  that can be driven with a top speed of 100 km/h with a 9.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery, delivering approximately 116 km of driving range in the YX and 14 kWh of 170 km in the ZX model.

 

7.VOLVO C40 RECHARGE PURE ELECTRIC selling price at 2,750,000 baht

VOLVO C40 RECHARGE PURE ELECTRIC is a crossover with 100% electric power. Fully charged, it can run more than 500 km. The front grille is a unibody design with a large Volvo logo that comes with an area under the hood. When opening the hood, it can store up to 30 liters of luggage. Pixel Technology Headlight headlights using front camera sensors to control the on-off of all 84 LEDs. The brightness can be adjusted automatically according to the ambient light environment and a welcome light is installed when the driver touches the door handle. It comes with 20-inch alloy wheels, and the cabin is elegant. Using charcoal black material and aluminum in various parts, it is another car from Volvo that does not use animal leather to decorate the interior. In addition, it is also equipped with a large TFT meter gauge and 12.3-inch infotainment system that comes with a 9-inch touch screen in a vertical shape supporting voice commands. The sound system is from Harman Kardon. A Panoramic Glass Roof with a rear door that can open or close with electricity. VOLVO C40 RECHARGE PURE ELECTRIC comes with 2 electric motors on the front and rear wheels. The maximum power is 408 horsepower, maximum torque is 660 Nm that can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 4.7 seconds. The top speed is limited to 180 km / h. The battery is a lithium-ion model with a capacity of 78 kWh. When fully charged, it can run more than 500 km.

 

8.NISSAN LEAF selling price at 1,490,000 baht

NISSAN LEAF, although it was released in Thailand for a while, sales are not very satisfactory, mostly because of the price. 

It was released for sale at a price of 1,990,000 which is considered to be a bit high. However, recently, at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show, the company has announced the new price of NISSAN LEAF, which is down to 700,000 baht, making it available at only 1,490,000 baht. 

The exterior of the NISSAN LEAF is equipped with LED headlights, Daytime illumination LED, V-Motion grille especially for electric cars and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is equipped with black leather seats with blue decorations. It has a radio audio with a 5-inch color screen and for the driver’s side, it is equipped with a 7-inch TFT color screen. NISSAN LEAF is also equipped with e-Pedal technology, allowing acceleration and deceleration to a standstill with only the accelerator pedal. The NISSAN LEAF also has an EM57 electric motor that produces a maximum power of 150 horsepower (PS), a maximum torque of 320 Newton-meter which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds and can drive a distance of 311 km per charge.
