Grand Prix International Public Company Limited is ready to kick off the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show, held from March 23 to April 3, 2022, at IMPACT Challenger Hall, Muang Thong Thani. Over 37 brands of leading car and motorcycle brands will be participating in the exhibition area of 170,960 square meters along with the electric vehicles of more than 20 models in the EV Smart City zone in response to the lifestyles of the new generation. The organizer has prepared strict health and hygiene safety standards in accordance with the government regulations to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak.
The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show is organized under the concept of “KEEP MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER”, indicating the experiences that lead to the discovery of a new gateway to the betterment and inspiration for lifelong learning. Dr. Prachin Eamlumnow, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Prix International Public Company Limited as the Chairman of The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show revealed “In 2022, the automotive industry of Thailand is now starting to recover after encountering the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak for approximately 2 years. This year, the government sector has forecasted that the production of cars and motorcycles in Thailand will increase compared to the previous year after many countries in the world can control the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, which makes people return to live a normal life and the economy can move forward again.”
“In the meantime, the automotive industry of Thailand is preparing for a major technological transformation from the internal combustion engine technology to the electric drive technology. Moreover, it receives support from the government sector in terms of production for domestic use and international exportation in the future. Therefore, this is another time that The Bangkok International Motor Show plays a significant role in driving the automotive industry of Thailand by presenting a variety of electric cars and electric motorcycles as well as a special zone to display the technology of the future on the exhibition of 170,960 square meters. It is well guaranteed that the Bangkok International Motor Show is the leading automotive show in Southeast Asia.” Dr. Prachin said.
The car and motorcycle brands that will be participating in the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show are Ford, BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Great Wall Motors, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Maserati, Peugeot, Jeep, Toyota, Lexus, MG, Mazda, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hyundai, Audi, Honda, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Volvo, Porsche , Bentley, Kia, Subaru, TAKANO, Thai Honda Manufacturing, Suzuki Motosales, Yamaha, BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, BAJAJ, KTM, and Husqvarna.
In addition, the electric models that will be displayed at the show are Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportback, Audi e-tron GT, BMW iX, BMW iX3, BMW i4, Lexus UX 300e, Mercedes-Benz EQS, MG EP Plus, MINI Cooper SE, Nissan Leaf, ORA Good Cat, Porsche Taycan, Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, Volvo XC40 Pure Electric, Volvo C40 Pure Electric as well as other electric models, which cannot be revealed yet.
At this year’s event, there will be an EV Smart City zone to showcase the innovation of electric vehicles and electronic equipment in response to the trend among Thai people that pay more attention to the technology of electric vehicles. There will be a display of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrids vehicles (PHEV) for 8 models from the leading manufacturers, such as BMW, Great Wall Motor, MG, MINI, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche and Volvo. Moreover, it receives support from the government sector to give information and provide knowledge about the installation of electric vehicle chargers at the show.
In addition, Arun Plus Co., Ltd., an affiliated firm of PTT will be joining the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show for the first time to introduce the latest generation of EV platform, their EV related products, and other future businesses relating to electric vehicles on the area of 1,085 square meters.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jaturont Komolmis, Chief Operating Officer of Sales and Marketing, Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and the Vice Chairman of the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show revealed about other preparations of the show this year that “The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show is the year of electric vehicles because the car and motorcycle manufactures will be displaying their electric vehicles for over 20 models. Besides, Arun Plus Co., Ltd., an affiliated firm of PTT will be joining for the first time to present the future of electric vehicles in Thailand as well as introducing the virtual reality technology or Metaverse in collaboration with Finn Solution Co., Ltd. for visitors who are interested in buying a car to try an interactive drive through their mobile phone, which will create a new experience to visitors.”

“The organizing of the Bangkok International Motor Show this year is still affected by the COVID-19 epidemic; however, the organizer has continually prepared and gets well supported by the car and motorcycle companies as well as partners that will make the show successful like every other year. It is an upgrade of the automotive industry of Thailand and it will help stimulate the country’s economy to have a circulating fund of over 30,000 million baht throughout 12 days of the show.”
“As for the public health measures, the Bangkok International Motor Show has obtained the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification, which is a project in cooperation between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Ministry of Public Health. Moreover, we are working hand in hand with Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office in setting up screening points for all attendees. Everyone must present proof of at least two doses of any COVID vaccine recognized by the Ministry of Public Health. This year, we have upgraded the COVID-19 safety measures for the safety and happiness of all, including exhibitors and visitors.” Mr. Jaturont said.
For those who are interested in motorsports, the organizer will be showcasing Honda City Hatchback; the racing car from the racing event dubbed Honda City Hatchback One Make Race. Moreover, there will be digital motorsports activities in the GP eRacing booth. There will also be Grand Prix Motor Park booth and a souvenir zone of the brand ROD that will have original and limited products available for visitors to buy.
Mr. Anothai Eamlumnow, Chief Operating Officer of Business Development, Grand Prix International Public Company Limited and the Vice Chairman of the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show revealed “A racing event has always been a part of Grand Prix International PCL. In the previous event, the company has organized the Honda City Hatchback One Make Race for the first time, which receives good feedback from the racers and audiences. Moreover, we have expanded our business to digital motorsports by forming GP eRacing, which started in 2019. We also have Grand Prix Motor Park, the landmark of comprehensive outdoor activities in Kanchanaburi province under our supervision, and we will introduce the souvenirs under the brand ROD, which is specially produced to distribute for the first time at the Bangkok International Motor Show this year.”

The 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show will be held at IMPACT Challenger Hall 1-3, Muang Thong Thani from March 23, 2022 to April 3, 2022 from 12.00 – 22.00 hrs.
